It’s September y’all! That means fall leaves, cooler temperatures, pumpkin spice everything. OK who am I kidding, we live in Pensacola, we get NONE of that. Well except for the pumpkin spice everything that makes us believe it’s fall. It also means the start of college football season (Go Argos!) and lots of other fun events happening in Pensacola this month. Here is your list of 30 things to do in Pensacola in September with kids!

  1. Robots with Steam – Learn and play with robots with an introduction to coding and a challenge for you and your robot to complete from 10:30-11:30 am at the Southwest Branch Library (12248 Gulf Beach Hwy, Pensacola).*
  2. Family Friendly Improv – All ages are welcomed to learn basic improv technique and play improv games at 2:30 pm at the Pensacola Library (239 N. Spring St). Parents must accompany younger children.*
  3. Happy Labor Day! Enjoy your day off with a picnic at the beach!
  4. Biz Kids at WPFL – Kids ages 6 + can make and sell things for play money while learning about financial literacy at the Century Branch Library (7991 N. Century Blvd.).*
  5. Blue Angel Practice – Watch the Blue Angels practice over the skies of Pensacola at the Naval Aviation Museum from 11:30-12:30.*
  6. Preschool Story Time – kids 3-5 can enjoy STEAM storytime at the Tryon Branch Library (1200 Langley Ave.) at 10:30 am with activities that encourage science, technology, engineering, art and math. *
  7. DeLuna Movie Nights – families can watch Ready Player One at the DeLuna Winery from 7:30-10:30pm. Cost is $5 per adult and FREE for children.
  8. 5th Annual Dragon Boat Festival – Support 40 teams as they race dragon boats in Bayou Texar (just off Bayview Park near Downtown Pensacola). There will also be local vendors and children’s activities starting at 8 am. Free admission. *
  9. Painting With Punzie – Children ages 5 and up can interact with Rapunzel, paint a picture to take home and enjoy a small snack. Cost is $20 per child before September 1st and $30 per child after September 1st. No tickets will be sold after September 5th. Purchase Tickets 
  10. Passport to the World: Japan – Children ages 6-12 can learn about Japan with fun crafts at the Pensacola Library on N. Spring St. at 4pm.*
  11. Bands on the Beach – Listen to Chloe Channell from 7-10pm at the Gulf Side Pavilion on Pensacola Beach.*
  12. Play at the Park – Pack a picnic lunch and spend some time playing at Perdido Kids Park. *
  13. Unicorn Sparkle Party – Children ages 3-10 can attend a unicorn themed party at the Southwest Branch Library (12248 Gulf Beach Blvd) at 6pm. There will be games, story, craft, photo op, treats and giveaways. *
  14. Hill-Kelly Movies in the Park – Watch Sherlock Gnomes from 7-9pm at Community Maritime Park. *
  15. Slimey Monster Party – Oozey-Gooey fun for children ages 3-12 at the Pensacola Library (239. N. Spring St) at 2pm. There will be games, story, craft, photo op, treats and giveaways. *
  16. Blues on the Bay- Listen to The Mulligans at the Hunter Amphitheater in Community Maritime Park at 6pm. *
  17. Naval Aviation Museum – Spend the day exploring the Naval Aviation Museum at NAS Pensacola. *
  18. Family Movie Night – Watch Dumbo at 4pm at the Tryon Branch Library (1200 Langley Ave). *
  19. Take a Hike – Explore one of the many nature trails around Pensacola. *
  20.  Pinkalicious Party – Pinkalicious fun for children ages 3-12 at the Pensacola Library (239. N. Spring St) at 6pm. There will be games, story, craft, photo op, treats and giveaways. *
  21. Gallery Night – Enjoy music, art and cuisine at this perfect chance to explore Pensacola’s downtown and art scene from 5-10pm in Downtown Pensacola.*
  22. Pet Partners Read To Me –  School age children can register for a 15 minute session to practice reading with a furry friend starting at 10am at the Southwest Branch Library (12248 Gulf Beach Hwy, Pensacola). Pre-registration is requested, call 850-453-7780 to pre-register.*
  23. Pumpkin Painting – All ages are welcomed to paint a wooden pumpkin from 3-4:30 at Dawson’s Nook, register by calling 850-994-9114. Cost is $15 per person.
  24. Passport to the World: USA – Children ages 6-12 can learn about the USA with fun crafts at the Pensacola Library on N. Spring St. at 4pm.*
  25. Family STEAM Night – Families can try their hand at acrylic paint pouring techniques at 6pm at the Pensacola Library (239 N. Spring St). *
  26. WSRE Imagination Station – Visit this hands on learning venue with a strong focus on early literacy and use of digital media using educational resources from WSRE and PBS Kids, featuring your child’s favorite PBS Kids characters. Located at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Open from 9am-NOON *
  27. Into the Woods – Go see Into the Woods at Pensacola Little Theater. Purchase Tickets 
  28.  Seafood Festival – This three day festival in Downtown Pensacola begins at 11am and features local seafood, music, local vendors, and kid activities. Free admission. *
  29. Day of Play –  Get out the house and play. Games, sports, contests and physical challenges for he entire family from 10am-12pm at Community Maritime Park. *
